Gilberto Silva, as I mentioned in my previous post was about to sign for the Greek side Panathinaikos ,which the picture suggests will be completed in a day or two. The image shows Gilberto driving out of the Athens airport surrounded by the supporters of the Greek club. Around two thousand supporters assembled at the airport to cheer their clubs latest acquisition. Gilberto 31 years old was seem to be set for a move elsewhere from January has finally decided that his time at Arsenal is over.
The 'Invisible Wall' as he is better known as will undergo a medical tomorrow after which he will sign his contract which will be for three years & expected to be worth £6m plus bonuses.Arsenal will receive around £1.2 m and the player’s representatives, The Base Soccer Agency, £0.8m.This will make him the highest paid player in Greece. It will also be a major boost for the Panathinaikos's ambition to win the league title after finishing third last season.I would like to thank my fellow Gooner from Arsenal Analysis for supplying me with this piece of info.Cheers Mate!!!
Now with Gilberto gone and Alex Hleb set to sign for Barcelona, I think that Arsenal's resources are depleting at a massive rate. This year we have lost 4 midfield players of top quality . I am sure Arsene knows of what he is doing but something tells me somethings gonna go wrong if we don't acquire quality holding midfield player soon. Wenger , are u listening?? But I trust each and every decision of The Professor.Lets see what he can surprise us with yet again. The Video of Gilberto arriving in car is here and is in Greek and some more photos.
